The following are the books I believe are the best for their intended audience. Some of these books are currently being used by major universities, but many are not. Universities often have different reasons for selecting books than working professionals and self-educators.
It may be that the book being used at university is the same one the instructor learned with, or that its chapters are convenient for building lesson plans, or that it is meant only to teach concepts and basics rather than develop a richer understanding. With that in mind, I recommend these books to students and self-educators who are interested in obtaining a greater depth of knowledge about these subjects.
